We’re Thinking “Space”

During a creative session today I was reminded that the events we create and produce start with a catalyst of just a few words from our clients.
That made me wonder about the number of thoughts we (meaning CCG) collectively has during a given day, week or year.
Started surfing around and found that the number of thoughts an average person has per day falls between a range of 12,357 and 60,000.
Not really sure how you would go about counting thoughts but even more peculiar is someone coming up with a number like 12,357.
Think about it.

CCG’s diverse bag of the latest and greatest visual event technologies makes us one of the few creative production companies that can boast possession of all of the creative and technical components that put all of your event dreams within reach.
You can call me old school, but I can’t get enough of the murals we create for our clients?
Whether it’s being used as part of the stage design, event signage or imagery for a video, it’s always crowd pleasing.
Researching for images to complete this task is always an adventure. We have to buy some, take some and hope that the marketing department with provide some. You never know.
We always expect a few obstacles as the corporate world has a bit of a tough time archiving their imagery, and if they do have materials, they’re usually low resolution thumbnails. Grrrrr.
If you’re thinking of creating a corporate collage or mural for your next event, start collecting high resolution images now. They’ve got to be there somewhere and if they’re not, find a camera!

Pioneering through the 20th century was the catalyst of the last visual spectacular that we produced. The load-in consisted of 32 10K DLP projectors, covering an estimated 980 linear feet and over 20,000 square feet of projected imagery (longer than 3 football fields). 200 individual LED fixtures bathing each of the elegantly adorned dining tables with themed color schemes, completely submerging the audience in an era rich environment. Add a full concert digital array audio system and you’ve got yourself an event for the “history” books!
Guests began their evening by walking a sepia rich hallway donned with barn wood framed art of the time. Turning the corner, the unsuspecting guests would come face to face and interact with two central figures of the organization that were projected live within an art frame nestled amongst other era portrait pieces. Take the “blue pill” comedy ensued!
Taking a journey through time started with custom concepts, video, animation and still imagery that blended with the perfect soundtracks to keep the audience captivated with the story being told. That’s not easy when it’s an open bar!
Feeling quite honored that I had the opportunity to watch 1650 people sitting in their chairs comfortably without ever having to turn their head to find a screen was a sight to behold.
The only thing I regret about the entire evening was having to work backstage. Guess I’ll have to wait for the video to come out.
Best part of the event was that they raised over a “Million Dollars” that night for a very worthy cause.
Cheers!

Doing back to back shows can take you to a place that can’t be described.
This past week we created and produced an outdoor concert for 10,000 people on one night, and a visual feast for 1650 people fighting for a cure the next.
Our technical crew thought we had invited them into hell, but the shows were pulled off, almost flawlessly. One with 3 minutes to spare.
Working through the constant barrage of obstacles prompted us to constantly regroup while holding it together for our client. With 7 hours of sleep in 3 days … that’s pressure!
Good news is, we have Rob (our executive producer) and Nathaniel (our extraordinary technical producer), and that’s something that the crew and client can always have comfort in knowing. Words could never describe!
Beyond the thrill of seeing your creation come to life are the lessons learned that can be taken with you for the next time.
A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him or her. ~David Brinkley
Cheers!

Details … you either love’em or hate’em.
We LOVE details and couldn’t put on an event without extensive planning, communication and documentation.
Flying by the seat of our pants is never an option.
Besides, who wants that chaos?
You don’t get to enjoy the event that way.
Our main goal, in the beginning stages of producing an event, is to establish who is doing what. Seems simple enough but you would be surprised how many details that can fall through the cracks if left unattended.
Assumption is never an option.
A full service creative event production company can and will …
- Develop Creative Concepts & Scenarios
- Theme and Brand the Event
- Design Layout for Room/Venue
- Write Scripts and Detailed Show-Flow
- Stage Design and Management
- Graphics, Video and Animation
- Schedules Production Meetings and Rehearsals
- AV Design, Management, Integration & Crew – (Headsets and everything:)
- Event Planning – Food, Decor, Tents, Games … we have people for that
- Hire, Manage and Direct Talent
- Pushing the Buttons and Calling the Shots
So … if you don’t see a three ring binder after a meeting or two … you may want to prepare yourself for a few sleepless nights in the future.
The Mystery of Creative People

A client turned, as he was leaving the room of our creative production meeting, smiled, looked over at me (Rob was talking:) and said, “I don’t understand half of what Rob is talking about but I love your creativity, concepts, energy and I have never been so confident that the production will go off, as planned, in a more than spectacular way!”
We are humbled by the love that this client extends to us and are so very grateful that this group of people have the ability to enjoy the process of creation for its own sake. Creative Collaboration is an art and it can make some people uneasy.
Stumbled upon a blog post, “Understanding Creative People”, by JULIET BRUCE, PH.D. This is a great resource to share in the classroom, or boardroom, to help support creativity instead of stifling it.
